Gosder Cherilus

Soon to be on sale at the Steelers store?

• Went out for a walk around Downtown at lunch today and BNG spied none other than Art Rooney II walking into the main PNC Bank tower this afternoon, presumably to see if the vault is full for whatever 21 or 22-year-old the Steelers will select in Round one and make obscenely wealthy shortly thereafter.

• Given that the Dolphins have already gone ahead signed Jake Long to a deal, thereby making him the number one pick, maybe St. Louis could get off its duff and agree to a deal with Chris Long or Vernon Gholston, or whoever they're going to pick, then Atlanta can go ahead and sign Matt Ryan, etc. We could have this draft half done by Friday afternoon, rather than the hours long marathon of football minutia we'll be subjected to come Saturday.

• "Steelers roll dice with Bradshaw." Great archive stuff.

• ESPN.com put together a list of the 50 greatest steals and busts of the draft, and your Pittsburgh Steelers are represented in both groups.

Steals:

8. L.C. Greenwood

16. John Stallworth

22. Mike Webster

27. Hardy Nickerson

33. Hines Ward

37. Greg Lloyd

Not too shabby.

Busts:

15. Huey Richardson

25. Tim Worley

They're being a little easy on the Steelers, given the number of other first-round busts the Steelers have had, especially in the 1980's. But BNG is of the opinion that folks should get over their draft bust fascination, as it reeks of Schadenfreude. I mean really -- these "busts" failed at the highest level of competitive professional sports in human history, and all at the ages of like 22-25. Like everything all the rest of us planned on in that stage of our lives worked out perfectly ...

This siteabsolutely rocks as a draft resource. Check it out.

• ESPN also did a redraft of the class of 2005. Heath Miller is now a Viking, and the Steelers settle for another Virginia Cavalier, Chris Canty.
