American League

White Sox 7, Twins 1: Gavin Floyd's no-hit bid lasted until the ninth. Joe Mauer doubled with one out off Chicago's young right-hander for Minnesota's only hit, and Floyd had to settle for a victory as the White Sox ended a six-game losing streak. Floyd (3-1) was taken out to a standing ovation after Mauer's double to left-center.

Rays 5, Blue Jays 4: Andy Sonnanstine won his fourth consecutive start, Eric Hinske homered, and Tampa Bay beat Toronto, snapping the Blue Jays' five-game winning streak. Sonnanstine (5-1) allowed four runs and 10 hits in six innings, becoming the fastest five-game winner in Tampa Bay's 11-year history.

Red Sox 5, Tigers 0: Tim Wakefield only allowed two hits in eight shutout innings to lift Boston past Detroit at Comerica Park. David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez also hit back-to-back homers on successive pitches in Boston's fifth win in a row and seventh in the past eight games.

Angels 5, Royals 3: Garret Anderson homered for the second game in a row and drove in five runs to lift visiting Los Angeles past Kansas City. Anderson, who had a two-run home run Monday night, slammed a Brian Bannister pitch for a three-run shot in the fourth.

Indians 5, Yankees 3: Pinch-hitter David Dellucci stunned New York with a go-ahead homer off Joba Chamberlain, as visiting Cleveland rallied for the victory in the opener of a three-game series. Dellucci's three-run shot with two outs in the eighth inning spoiled a strong start by Andy Pettitte.
