You don't have to dance with the stars to enjoy the newest addition to the city's cultural constellation.
Absolute Ballroom and Dance Center of Pittsburgh opened its doors last Saturday in the former Arthur Moser furniture warehouse at 6617 Hamilton Ave., East End.
Architect Amy Chen of EDGE transformed the space into a bright, sleek performance center with two wooden dance floors. Private and group lessons in ballroom dancing will be offered by artistic director Andrew Pueschel, a professional ballroom dance instructor and competitor who promises that classes will be "flexible and affordable."While he gears up for the new DanceSport category in the Olympics, he'll teach "social dancing, wedding couples, very beginners, people with two left feet, people who want to be competitors and others who just want to dance gracefully."
Absolute Ballroom is also available for parties and receptions, and Mr. Pueschel's Forte Productions event company can help make the plans.
