The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has adopted a Broadway practice for the run of "Wicked." A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of seats will be held Sept. 3-Oct. 5, while the show is at the Benedum Center. Each day, 2 1/2 hours before show time, people who present themselves at the Box Office at Theater Square, 655 Penn Ave., will have their names placed in a lottery drum, and then 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person.
The national tour of "Wicked" was a big seller when it played here in 2006. Some tickets are still available throughout the engagement, with the best seats available for the 1 p.m. performance on Sept. 4.
