CBRE said Siemens Engineering had signed a major 10-year lease to consolidate its environmental engineering operations on floors three to six of the Union Trust Building, 501 Grant St., Downtown, which is owned by MIKA Realty Group. The space has about 185,000 rentable square feet plus additional storage and conference space. Gerry Dudley, Kurt Mrazik, Paul Novello and Jeff Babikian of CBRE's corporate services group represented the tenant.
Cygnus Manufacturing Co. partnered with Hanson Technologies to fabricate the automated OmniFresh 1000 System, which screens large-volume fresh produce lots in near-real time for contamination by E. coli, salmonella and other bacteria. It provides test results in two hours or less, compared with 12 to 36 hours for conventional lab testing methods that sample only a tiny percentage of produce lots.

Soles4Souls, the international charity dedicated to providing free footwear to those in desperate need, will partner with Shoe Carnival to launch a fund-raiser and national shoe trade-in program at all 300 Shoe Carnival stores. The programs will run Sept. 3 through Sept. 24 and will raise funds for new shoes for people in need around the world. For a $2 donation, one of the 300 million children around the world will receive a first pair of shoes. Dick Corp. completed a restructuring transaction with a new global construction company, dck worldwide, LLC, said it received the LEED Silver award by the U.S. Green Building Council for the Child Development Center at the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, VA. This Project, on which Dick served as the Design/Builder, is the first CDC to be awarded a USGBC LEED certification in the entire Department of Defense.
