A Jeannette man was killed early Saturday in a one-vehicle accident in Hempfield.

Kevin W. DeLuke, 24, was pronounced dead at 5:19 a.m. at the scene of the accident on Greensburg-Mt. Pleasant Road.

Mr. DeLuke had been driving his pickup truck south at high speeds at about 3:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, the coroner's office said.

His truck crossed the center line and up an embankment where it struck a tree and rolled back down the hill.

Mr. DeLuke, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle during the accident.

Toxicology tests are being done. He died of trauma of the head, Mr. O'Leath said.
