Even though Willie Parker will not play Sunday because of a shoulder injury, the Steelers released veteran running back Najeh Davenport today and re-signed linebacker Donovan Woods.
Woods made the team as an undrafted rookie but was released Oct. 25 and signed to the practice squad a week later. He played in four games on special teams.
Davenport, who spent the past two seasons with the Steelers, was released in June and re-signed last month after injuries to Parker and rookie halfback Rashard Mendenhall. He had returned kickoffs for them since his signing.
