Interstate 79 south will be closed around the Parkway West interchange from 9 p.m. today until 5 a.m. tomorrow for sign work. Traffic will use the Route 60/I-79 detour to circumvent the construction zone.

The signs are part of the $67.5 million "missing ramps" and widening project that has been under way in the vicinity for the past two years.

As part of a separate contract, the state Department of Transportation announced that traffic on the Parkway West will be reduced to a single lane in both directions from 8 p.m. tomorrow through 6 a.m. Thursday from the Route 22/30/60 interchange to the Route 60/Business Route 60 junction. In addition, the outbound Montour Run Road off-ramp will be closed.
