A motorist from South Park was killed early yesterday in New Stanton when he lost control of his car and crashed on a Pennsylvania Turnpike ramp, state police said.
Scott E. Austin, 40, was driving south on Toll 66 at 3:55 a.m. when he made a sudden turn toward a ramp to Interstate 70, state police said.
Mr. Austin was ejected through the sun roof of his SUV as it rolled. The vehicle landed on top of Mr. Austin, police said.
Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner John Ackerman pronounced him dead of chest trauma at the scene.
Investigators said Mr. Austin was not wearing a seat belt and had been driving too fast for the maneuver that caused the crash.
