A suspect was charged Saturday in two robberies in Fayette County, state police said.
Francis R. Pyro Jr., 27, of Uniontown, was charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and simple assault.
One of the counts stems from an incident Nov. 5 in which a robber entered a Dairy Mart in Hopwood. The clerk refused to cooperate, so she and the robber struggled over control of the cash register, according to a police affidavit. The suspect eventually took the cash register and fled, but left behind a motocross glove he had been wearing, the affidavit said.
Mr. Pyro was held in the Fayette County Prison on $50,000 bail, pending a preliminary hearing tomorrow before District Judge Joseph George in Uniontown.
