A soldier was ordered held for trial today in the stabbing death of a Ligonier man.

Army Pvt. Anthony Mowry allegedly killed William "Mike" Jones, 75, and then set the victim's home on fire in September.

Pvt. Mowry was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, but is from the Latrobe area.

A preliminary hearing was held today before District Judge Denise Snyder Thiel of Ligonier.
