Q: Following up your response to the inequity of the Steelers playing at Kansas City eight of the past nine meetings: You said that the scheduling system is predetermined to eliminate such inequity. So how then will Pittsburgh visit Miami two years in a row? Is it only the "division" matchup and not the seeding match up that is predetermined?

Lance Killmeyer, Aspinwall

BOUCHETTE: As I explained, the schehdule is set except for two games. Those "wild card" games are based on where a team finishes in its division. Had the New England Patriots finished first in the AFC East, the Steelers would have played at New England instead of at Miami this year. Same with Tennessee. Had the Colts finished first last season, Indy would have come here this year instead of the Titans. All other games are predetermined on a rotating basis but you can have a situation like this season and next when the Steelers must play the same team twice on the road, or at home because of where each team finished in its division.
